I started on 30mg and found that worked for me and have stayed on 30mg. I had side effects -- mostly insomnia and postural hypotension, that's pretty much it -- and I don't think they could have been avoided by triturating. Parnate is not like lamictal, where the possibility of a serious rash needs to be carefully monitored over a few weeks.
