Meds...barking up the wrong tree

Posted by stargazer2 on December 17, 2013, at 16:21:46

Does anyone think that meds are not the answer and that instead a psychological problem is the cause of their depression. I recently came up Attachment Reactive Disorder and wonder if this may be the cause of my resistent, chronic depression.
My childhood seemed to be based in
deprivation of emotion and to this day I am unable to easily or naturally express emotions or love to others. My relationships are superficial and when I read about this disorder it seems to be
something that perhaps I have and caused all of my problems. Meds have not worked very well and I'm always left with a feeling of sadness and the inability to relate to others.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

I always thought meds would work but now I think it is something in the way I lacked nurturing from my mother and my inability to trust or love her.

I posted on psychology too.
