Doh!
The whole point of my first post was to indicate that I was interested in this for a reason!
My PDOC and I have discussed my metformin as a possible option for AAP weight gain. We went with Topamax monotherapy for this. I was on Abilify, but I gained so much weight that I switched to Latuda.
I love Latuda. It is an excellent AAP! Sorry about your side effect. It works well, but in spite of all of that-- I want to switch back to Abilify. It was still better. Abilify is just that much of a wonder drug, I suppose. I feel like Latuda has more of a "blunting" effect on my life, if that makes sense.
I'm going to ask my PDOC to augment metformin if I was to switch back to Abilify and possibly raise my dosage of Topamax from 200 to 300mg.
That's why I was really wanting to get some input from posters.
I was very interested in asenapine myself, but I never tried it. If I somehow couldn't be on Latuda or Abilify, that's the one I would pick.
