I'm not fully well read on all things Tar dive Dyskinesia, but I've actually had an antidepressant cause uncontrollable muscle movements (Effexor), and I had fully warning about it before it became permanent. When I had first moved Effexor up to 150mgs, muscles in my face started tensing up on their own. But I had figured "surely this can't be TD, only antipsychotics can cause that right?". But I kept taking it and yup, its been stuck with me since 2006 now. I believe AD's cause TD because Serotonin suppresses Dopamine release, eventually leading to the dopamine system becoming "supersensitive" after chronic use.

Anyway, back to your question about Risperdal. Your experience sounds much like my dads when he was prescribed an antipsychotic. (Can't remember which one) but i think he only took it at most 2 days before he stopped taking it due to his muscles tensing up. If I were you, I wouldn't continue messing around with the possibility of making your involuntary muscle movements permanent. That could disable you if it got too bad.

There may be a better AP you could try with less risk of TD. Maybe your psychiatrist or someone else on Babble has a better idea for one. Maybe Abilify?
