Lamdage22,
I suspect that having a psychotic disorder on top of a depressive disorder could complicate the treatment of the depressive disorder. At least that has seemed to be the case with me, and it looks like that might be the case with you, as well.
I don't think that continuing to make attempts at treating your depression is dumb, although I do think that it can sometimes be best to avoid medications that are similar to ones that have affected you badly in the past. In your case, I think that it made sense to attempt a trial with tianeptine, given its rather unique mechanism of action.
Having said what I've said, I will say that I came to the conclusion some time ago that medications aren't likely to help in the long-term treatment of my "depressive" disorder. That's not to say that I'll never consider taking another medication with antidepressant properties again, but that if I do try other medications with antidepressant properties, my expectations for such medications will not be very high. Now, I'm not recommending giving up on treatment altogether, but I am saying that for some of us who go through numerous medication trials without long-term success that treatment modalities other than medications sometimes need to be given greater emphasis.
That sums up my thoughts on what you've written. I hope that this post finds you doing well, or at least as well as possible.
