I like Abilify and it's doing wonders for me, but things were to change I would only be interested in cariprazine (or Invega, which I haven't tried) because brexpiprazole is an SSRI -- can't take that on an MAOI.
But I stopped Mirapex two days ago, so let's see whether I develop some sort of akathisia from Abilify. I only had very minor feelings of it when I started the drug at 10mg. It was worse on Latuda.
I don't think I'll have any problems though, and I believe that optimism contributes to a positive placebo response whereby I am less likely to get said side effect. That and Namenda XR (memantine) is replacing the Mirapex, and that supposedly has some activity at D2 receptors possibly to deal with any akathisia risk.
