> Great to hear,i used ketamines stronger cousin MXE,however i used it recreationaly as i did not know any other way,and yess not dramatacly prob cause of my misdosing but it def had antidepressant properties, also gave one of the most tripped out highs ever but i know i should not be advocating that here, however its ok you can not in anyway get it no more its been removed.
NMDA receptor blockade might not be important to the action of ketamine.
The therapeutic effects of ketamine might actually be due to its metabolite, hydroxynorketamine (HNK), which has no direct effect on NMDA receptors. HNK works as an antagonist of the acetylcholine nicotinic alpha-7 receptor. It also prevents the overproduction of D-serine, thus reducing the excitability of NMDA receptors. In rat studies, HNK, like ketamine, not only produced potent and rapid antidepressant effects, but also stimulated neuro-regenerative pathways and initiated the regrowth of neurons. It is quite possible that ketamine isn't needed at all. NNK is 1,000 times more potent than ketamine, does not act as an anesthetic or dissociative agent, and can be taken orally.
