i only found the courage to quit smoking once i made it clear to myself that the purpose / goal wasn't to quit nicotine - just to quit all the bad cancer causing other stuffs...
i'd heard of a person who substituted smoking for gum. she used to cut the pieces of gum into 4. then she's have a bit of gum with her coffee out there with the smokers. chew a bit of gum each and every time she would have had a cigarette before.
and i thought to myself: i could do that. and it seemed... possible... whereas quitting nicotine did not.
but vaporisers were still in their infant stages. they are much better developed now... pretty glass and everything...
the odd thing was... that quitting nicotine (for me) really wasn't hard. quitting smoking was, for sure. hardest thing i've ever one my whole freaking life. i think a huge part of that (for me) was around the decision to live. to stop trying to kill myself. giving up the horrible cancer causing stuff was hard. giving up nicotine... turned out to be easy.
the gum gave me digestive upset. made my stomach feel... gnawy. gave me a horrible buggy eyed and anxious feeling. made me want to f*rt. turns out nicotine doesn't much agree with me. which is odd... it surely does help with attention... but then... so does sugar. in both cases it is the crash that must be suffered through...
anyway... i don't have problems with nicotine. it just doesn't agree with me. which is kind of odd. since amphetamines surely do. and caffine. oh wells.
