Says who? You think the "cool kids" are immune from depression, bipolar, psychosis? I would bet you're wrong. I've been hospitalized several times, also partial programs. I have met some pretty successful people laid low by mental illness. I met a guy once who was completely, out-of-control delusional and paranoid who turned out to be a very successful and respected award-winning journalist. He was bipolar and had gone off his meds.
The relationship between mental illness and affluence is completely unfounded. There are plenty of financially well-set people who are mentally ill. How do you think hospitals like McLean stay in business?
