I swich from Nardil to Marplan too. been on it since 2006/7 now. It might feel mildly more activating at 1st so watch for anxiety. It seems NOT to have Nardil's GABA effects. Its not weaker than, but seems to be the least likely MAOI to cause interactions with Tyramine and other meds. If anxiety is an ussue you may or may not need an addon. I take clonazepam with mine but was on it already when I started. Before running to benzos tho, try Neurontin & other anxiety 1st.
Yes the leaflet says 60 max. I take 90mg day. Last visit my doc said I might as well go 100mg. That was 7 weeks ago. No difference.
I currently take daily (generic names!):
isocarboxazid 90mg
clonazepam 4mg
bupropion 300mg
amitriptyline 100mg
quetiapine 50mg (as an augmenter).
Probably as a result of long term benzos I also take centrophenoxine 1.5g & Aniracetam 1g per day. These are nootropics (smart drugs/semi-nutrients) and seem to help my head stay clear and focussed with a mild stimulation. Seems to work. Heres other meds I remember taking with Marplan:
Valdoxine
Trimipramine
Modafinil
Sulpride
few more I've forgotten.
And to help you get sensation back downstairs, whether erection or pee-ing problems I used Saw Palmetto herbal remedy. Look for a total of 2g/2000mg total, whether whole herb (which I prefere) or a standardized product.

I'm very shocked your doc let you swap from Nardil without a break! I was given a 2 week break. Which is better in a way coz you notice the Marplan more when it kicks in.
