I read in the textbook that smoking increases the risk of ovarian cysts / eptopic pregnancy (where an egg gets stuck in the fallopian tubes instead of making its way along them and then out).
There are cilia in the fallopian tubes and in the airways. They are there hair like projections that wave about and help move the egg along the fallopian tubes, or the dust and gunk along out of the airways.
Apparently it isn't smoking, specifically. Apparently it is actually nicotine that paralyses the cilia.
SO.. Maybe that explains it.
