insomnia after Klonipin (clonazepam) taper off

I tapered off clonazepam slowly over the last few months. I have been completely off for about 3 weeks. I understood I would have some insomnia while tapering, which I did. But I continue to have it severely. Is it possible for the insomnia to last several months or more after being off?
