hi friends,
i put up a post about invega a few days ago. i haven't been here for a while i've taken it (as well as abilify) in the past to help as mood stabilizers for bipolar 2, and though i don't remember anything great about either, i don't remember anything bad, which is a good sign for me.
my pdoc seems to shoot down any of my ideas for treatment (i feel like it's a power play with him), but i believe i've been rapid cycling, because every few days (week long stints) i'm depressed and can't leave my apartment. otherwise, i'm hypomanic. it's been immobilizing and i can't deal with what feels like major depressive episodes every 2 weeks, peppered by hypomania here and there (usually from
my meds).that said, i need an addition to my regimen (lexapro 20mg, tramadol 300 XR, ativan 6 mg). seroquel (at stabilizing doses) gives me night terrors and panic attacks. mood stabilizers worsen my depression. i never gave lithium a fair shake but i was on a low dose for a short period years ago and i can't really remember much about it.
so, i saw my doc this afternoon and he gave me rexulti. i have a starter pack--it's new--and i'm supposed to take ½ of 1 mg in the morning after food. he said it's akin to a "better/cleaner" abilify. (kind of like invega in place of risperadol when its patent ran out.)
help!! anyone have any knowledge/experience/feedback w/Rexulti ? this is the first i've heard of it and i'm really nervous.
hope you're all faring well.
thanks.
