Not at all uncommon.

I don't know. I might be able to concoct a theory of some sort, but that wouldn't contribute to your treatment. Let's just say that you have become desensitized to Nardil. The brain was just waiting for its first oppportunity to compensate for the Nardil. This was allowed to occur once the Nardil was removed. This phenomenon is also seen with SSRIs, especially with Paxil. For some reason, the SNRIs and TCA are less prone to do this. I'm not as sure about Wellbutrin and Remeron, but I don't often hear about these drugs pooping-out.
How long ago did you take your last dose of Nardil? Some people are able to respond to Nardil again (recapture the response) if they wait a minimum of three months.
What exactly are you suffering from?
You could go to Parnate. In my estimation, it poops-out at a lower rate than Nardil. Also, there are many people who don't respond to one, but whom responod to the other. The two drugs are not interchangeable. One of my doctors had a patient who he cycled between Nardil and Parnate.
Good luck.
