I agree. You don't see a whole lot of it in mainstream US news, but mainstream news in, say, the UK often criticizes The Miracle Meds. My theory is that since they have the NHS, they're more critical of meds than the US. Even with some shrinks ideologically devoted to drugs, drugs, and more drugs, cost containment demands that they take a good look at the data and...apparently...what they've found (and are finding) isn't so great.Other European countries are devoting a lot of time and money to psychosocial treatments for mental problems, with the meds there, but in the background. If Schizophrenia is now being treated more and more by psychosocial means, then I would imagine/assume that, eventually, that approach will become more common with the less severe problems and will also come to America (hopefully).
