My diagnosis is 296.53 - Bipolar I disorder with the most recent episode being depression without psychosis.

I have experienced psychotic manic episodes in association with antidepressant medication. I never experienced a spontaneous mania. This still qualifies as Bipolar I disorder as long as the mania cannot be explained by another medical condition, and that the mania persists beyond the discontinuation of the antidepressant medication. I am hoping that Abilify is exerting a protective effect from future manic episodes.

Current medication regime:

Parnate 80 mg/day
Desipramine 300 mg/day
Lamictal 300 mg/day
Lithium 300 mg/day
Abilify 10 mg/day
Prazosin 6 mg/day *

* I am still in the midst of determining the optimal dosage of prazosin. 6 mg looks pretty good so far.

Feel free to ask more questions.

:-)
