Does depression -> DNA damage
Does DNA damage -> depressionIf I had to guess, I would say that depression comes first, which leads to DNA damage via glutamate-induced excitotoxicity. Perhaps the DNA damage helps to reinforce and perpetuate depression via altered gene expression. The same relationship might exist for depression and brain inflammation.
