Ritalin is great. I think it is way under-utilized. One of my docs said it is her most prescribed med because it helps the most people with the most symptoms. For me it is a mild antidepressant but an amazingly good anti-anhedonia pro-motivation booster...it actually makes me feel normal. Not high. Not buzzed. Normal. It's really weird. I feel completely normal on Ritalin.
Not taking it right now, been a few years. But I love it and am thinking about revisiting.
I started off 5mg twice a day, but over a couple months had worked my way up to 10mg 6 times a day. That was a perfect dose for me. I was normal all day, slept better than ever, the only problem was low appetite. I tried extended release versions and higher doses less frequently but those weren't as good. I had to do 6 small doses per day instead of 3 bigger ones.
Anyway, cool. Tolerance will gently creep in and it won't feel as good so you'll probably have to up the dose at some point.
It's weird how some people respond well to Adderall but not Ritalin, and others it's the other way around. I did terrible with Adderall but I love Ritalin.
> So I'm now on ritalin, only 5mg twice daily. Everything feels just right lol. Little like Early days of Nardil. Gonna enjoy it whilst it last!
