I don't know how it is in your state, but...where I live, you can look them up on the licensing board website, and it'll show the MD/DO supervising. If you're feeling extra inquisitive, you can look up that MD/DO and see how many NPs they're currently supervising. oh, and board complaints, sanctions, etc. that, too.
