Riluzole instead of Lamotrigine?

Posted by Englishman006! on December 21, 2020, at 6:30:36

Hi everyone,

I can no longer tolerate Lamotrigine because it give me facial hyperpigmentation or melasma. It works great for my mood but the dark patches on my face are getting worse. I know it's not listed as a side effect but when I came off it for around 6 months my face cleared up.

I was wondering whether I could swap it for Riluzole. Has anyone had any experience with this drug?

I suffer with:

Social anxiety
Major depression
Adhd (inattentive type)

I take:

Lamotrigine
Dexamphetamine
Prozac
Mirtazapine
Low dose amisulpride
memantine
some salt and pepper!

Thanks in advance

Shaun
