I had lower than average levels but still well in the healthy range. I got no signs of low testosterone whatsoever other than low mood. So I take it that I'm okay. Sex drive, muscle growth and voice and body hair, all good. So I'm not sacrificing my natural T producton or ability to get children. You never know. Maybe it turns out my mental health issues were not genetic but situational. The lower T could be a result of Metformin. It is known to lower testosterone. But it helps me to not get severely overweight so I am not dropping it.
If you are not the youngest anymore and especially if you show signs of low T then maybe you should get tested. Maybe insurance will pay. Negotiate! But know that you may not be able to get children again and don't crush an ok testosterone production just because you are a bit below average.
It strikes me as odd that nobody thought of a testosterone nasal spray before! Gel is inconvenient and messy.
