liftst depressive episodes and can work with anti-depressants. I don't know how lamotragine work in the brain, it's an anticonvulant, and reduces over active firing. So that may attribute to it's mood stablizing properties. The only true mood stablizer is lithium. It' old been around for long time, used for depression even before lamotragine came in 1994. But lamictal is better for depression rather than mania. Does anyone know more about this in studies how it works?
