I just finished reading this article, which is a good introductory review of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and nicotine addiction:
https://sci-hub.se/https://doi.org/10.1016/j.neuropharm.2020.108256It claims nicotine has a half-life of 20 hours in humans. That doesn't sound right to me. Wikipedia reports a half-life of only 1-2 hours, although it mentions a metabolite, cotinine, with a half-life of 20 hours.
