> Well... I needed to dig into things much deeper to acutally feel able to do those things. I have tried. My therapist teaches me self acceptance. To my mind, self acceptance is needed to be able to tolerate anxiety and do something anyway. To put yourself out there even though you may be perceived as a weirdo. Some people can't swallow if they are perceived as such. I have learned to live with it.
>I think self-confidence is a factor that yields courage and determination. I don't know about self-acceptance, but first accepting yourself as you are would seem to be a starting point for being able to change yourself.
> It is still good information and I am sure CBT works for many people, if those studies have been legitimate.
>I think the therapist in that video was ACT-oriented (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which is not exactly CBT, but one of its derivatives. However, exposure-therapy for anxiety and phobias is a classic approach that predates CBT.
> He teaches by showing me that I am acceptable. Not by teaching me what to think. Am I unfair with CBT? Maybe.
>My problem with the behavioural approach is the idea of changing behaviour and hoping the psyche will follow. I find that backwards. Change the psyche and the behaviour will change accordingly.
> Someone recommended gotu kola I think and something else. I don't remember and I can't find it with the search option.
>The cola in Coca-Cola refers to kola nut, a source of caffeine. Does gotu kola have any active ingredient(s)?
