GHB analogs, other research chemicals... opinions?

Posted by Ame Sans Vie on September 16, 2003, at 13:37:00

Okay, I'm seriously giving some thought to replacing my occasional GBL use with a less... "aggressive" type of drug. I don't drink alcohol, so when I go out to have fun with friends on the weekends at the bars, I like to have a small amount of GBL -- not enough to become really intoxicated, but just enough to loosen up. Like having three or four beers.

I've done a lot of research now on tons of different GHB analogs and other interesting-sounding chemicals I could buy in bulk from an online distributor. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on any of these chemicals I'm about to list. I'm very well aware that I'd be taking somewhat of a risk using a research chemical like this, but they've all been used on rodents to no ill effect (unless overdosed, of course). Besides, someone has to pioneer these intriguing substances. :-)

The first twelve are GHB analogs; the rest I'll explain separately:

1. B-AL (beta-Alanine)
2. DAVA (delta-Aminovaleric acid)
3. EACT (epsilon-Aminocaproate)
4. GABBL (gamma-Amino beta-butyrolactone)

6. 2-B4O (Delta alpha,beta-Butenolide)
7. GCL (gamma-Crotonolactone)
8. GHC (gamma-Hydroxycrotonate)
9. T-HCA (trans-4,2-Hydroxycrotonic acid)
10. T-HCCA (trans-(4,4)-o-Hydroxy-chlorophenylcrotonic acid)
11. T-HNCA (trans-4-Hydroxy-4-p-nitrophenylcrotonic acid)

17. cis(+/-)-8-OH-PBZI HBr -- selective dopamine D3 receptor agonist (cis-(±)-1,2,3a,4,5,9b-hexhydro-1H-benz[e]indole hydrobromide)
18. GR 113808 -- serotonin 5-HT4 receptor antagonist (1-[2-[(Methylsulfonyl)-amino]ethyl]-4-piperidinyl]methyl 1-methyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylate)
19. GR 127935 -- potent, selective antagonist at serotonin 5-HT1b and 5-HT1d receptors (N-[4-Methoxy-3-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)phenyl]-2´-methyl-4´-(5-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-1,1´-biphenyl-4-carboxamide hydrochloride)

24. ABT-418 -- novel neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist with cognition enhancing and anxiolytic activities (C9H14N2O * HCl)
25. L-655,708 -- novel ligand selective for the benzodiazepine site of GABA-a receptors which contain the alpha subunit (Ethyl (S)-11,12,13,13a-Tetrahydro-7-methoxy-9-oxo-9H-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]benzodiazepine-1-carboxylate)
26. ACEA -- potent and selective neuronal CB1 cannabinoid receptor agonist (Arachidonyl-2´-chloroethylamide)
27. ACPA -- potent and selective neuronal CB1 cannabinoid receptor agonist (Arachidonylcyclopropylamide)
28. AEA (Anandamide) -- an arachidonic acid derivative that is an endogenous ligand for the CB cannabinoid receptor and for the VR1 vanilloid receptor; inhibits calcium currents in neuroblastomas and neurons; activates the MAP kinase signaling pathway; inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis of lymphocytes and human breast cancer cells (Arachidonylethanolamide)
29. 2-AG -- endogenous cannabinoid receptor agonist (2-Arachidonyl glycerol)
30. BML-190 -- CB2 cannabinoid receptor agonist (N-[1-(4-Chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-3-indoleacetyl]morpholine)

33. Mead acid ethanolamide -- agonist for CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors (N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-(Z,Z,Z)-5,8,11-eicosatrienoic acid)
34. R(+)-Methanandamide -- a congener of anandamide that is metabolically stable and displays higher affinity for the cannabinoid receptors (R(+)-Arachidonyl-1´-hydroxy-2´-propylamide)
35. O-689 -- an analog of anandamide that is a potent, selective CB1 cannabinoid receptor agonist; the methyl group at the C-2 position of arachidonic acid gives the compound enhanced metabolic stability; it can fully substitute for delta9-THC in animal self-administration tests ((+/-)-2-Methylarachidonoyl-2´-fluoroethylamide)
36. PEA -- endogenous CB2 cannabinoid receptor agonist; structural analog of anandamide (N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)hexadecanamide)

I've already tried the legal phenethylamine and tryptamine hallucinogens, so I guess that's the whole list, more or less. I'm very tempted to order a few grams of MDMA and methaquaalone though, I must admit, lol.
