Actualy, I should have said BDNF, which stands for Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor. This chemical is essential for the growth of new neurons throughout our lifespans. and is thought to be vitally important in the prevention of anxiety and depression, and for emotional health and healthy new emotional learning. It is particularly active in the hippocampus and orbital frontal cortex- the areas of the brain most closely involved with feelings.
