have you tried DMAE? I found it was good for motivation and focus, without feeling like a stimulant.
You could also try l-tyrosine or DL Phenylalaline, or l-phenylalanine.
Acetyl-l-carnitine is also good for energy.
I tried all these and found DMAE the most useful. Also a strong siberian ginseng extract (say 28:1) is very good as again, it does not produce nervousness.
