In reply to do all amino acids in whey protein get absorbed, posted by Jimmy JimJim on November 17, 2004, at 15:43:12
> I've been taking whey protein for a while and apparently according to the ingredients it has a large and complete profile of all the amino acids, both essential and non essential. My question is whether these amino acids all get absorbed seperately as the they are grouped together, for example would I get the benefits of the 500mg of tryptophan per 30g scoop, or would it be too heavily competed with by other aminos to be properly absorbed.
You'll absorb them all, and maybe better than from more complex proteins such as meat. You went get a distinct effect of e.g. tryptophan, not like taking pure tryptophan all by itself.
> ALso one more question, I'm currently taking glutamine and was wondering whether it would augment the positive effects of picamilon since they both work on gaba.
