The academic pdoc I see told me that he suspects that lithium's cognitive side effects are due to its influence upon ADH (anti-duiretic hormone).. Now, if this bs that they say about the transporter is true, then hopefully serum levels will be lower and effect the kidney cells less..
One more thing in support of lithium orotate, magnesium, often used in cardiovasular illness, is administered in the orotate form, to apparently, help transportation..
