I've just picked a repeat Rx of Tryptophan.
This time (unlike other times), the "patient counselling" sheet, that accompanied it, advised against taking with dairy products. The prescribing advice has always recommended taking with food (no info on WHICH foods, however) but now it's added the "no dairy product" advisory. It's my understanding that tryptophan should not be taken with protein, better with carbs. I have found it to be fine taken alone. I don't get stomach upsets from trypt. which seems to be the fear of the pharmacists!
Anyone know why dairy products could be a problem?
Thanks.
