5-htp will compete with DLPA and Tyrosine so try taking them separately if you haven't already. I would suggest taking the 5-htp with a meal as the insulin release will help clear competing amino's from the bloodstream.
I take 300mgs. of 5-htp a day with 5mgs. of deprenyl and it is working well. I divide the 5-htp in two doses, 100mgs. in the morning and 200mgs. in the evening. I take Solaray entrically coated capsules that also contain a small amount of b6 which is needed for conversion.
Have you tried combining 5-htp with St. Johns Wort? That was a fantastic combination for me which worked the best of anything I have ever tried. I quit taking the SJW for a surgery and after it was over my deprenyl have arrived in the mail so I decided to try it instead. As well as my current combination is working I have actually been considering going back to SJW and 5htp but the damn interaction problem with SJW has been holding me back. If you haven't tried the two yet though I highly recommend it.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!
