I've tried trytophan several times. One time it was for a week. It made me relaxed and very sleepy, but seemed to worsen depression. The sexual dysfunction was even worse than ssri antidepressants. Other times I tried it for just 2 days, having some mild improvement of mood the first day followed by a worsened depression the second day. And very sleepy. And goodbye sex.
I've tried a bunch of amino acids. I like tyrosine for its immediate mood boost, but it poops out in just days. Same results with DLPA.
I tried taurine for calming and though it didn't calm as expected, it somehow in an unidentifiable way had me feeling a little better, almost as if it somehow makes all the other natural aminos in your body work better. The problem I have had with all aminos is that they just poop out real fast. It seems like my body compensates radidly to the extra amounts.
