I think you're confusing PEA (phenylethylalanine) with Phenylalanine, which is what we're discussing here. I imagine that MAO inhibition would still interact with L-phenylalanine, but it is by no means like a mescaline. PEA, taken with an MAO-B inhibitor like Deprenyl, might be considered as feeling like various amphetamine derivatives, depending on the person.
