As you look through the archives here and look at information available on the net you will see there is a lot of debate about Li Orotate. No one seems to agree on anything. Some natural doctors use it regularly with good results. Science buffs say it is useless. Some people who were on pharmaceutical lithium did a lot better with orotate, while some people got a lot more benefit from the pharm lithium and worse on the orotate. No way to predict.
As has been witnessed over and over, academic rationale for whether something is good or not often doesn't pan out. The only true test is a personal trial.
The government is quick to pounce on natural supplements that prove dangerous. All supplements, herbs, vitamins, minerals, and meds have risks and unknowns.
You can order it on the net. The dose is usually 3 pills per day. The orotate somehow carries much more of the lithium into the brain than does pharm lithium, so far lower amounts of lithium are needed. Or so the reasoning goes. The usual dose is 3 tabs per day, which a very small amount of lithium compared to pharm. If you want to try it, maybe start with 1/2 tab once a day, then twice a day, and keep working your way up to the full dose.
Not sure what you are trying to treat, but pharm lithium is dirt cheap and is often effective at much lower doses than the doctors say are necessary.
> I am interested in Lithium Orotate, but i don't know anything about it. I Greatly prefer a natural med to a synth one. Is Lith-Oro really dangerous? If not, how does one get it? Also, what is the usual starting dose? I would have to taper off of something else first....
