I have read through many posts on this. I have in the past been deficient (serum wise) in magnesium, and also in potassium. After developing what looked to be MS and was not I began supplementing over two years after the fact I had been told these things were low but was not put on supplementation. I struggle on a daily basis with this and am trying to find out what is wrong, but all serum testing now shows that my magnesium levels are fine even at the higher end of normal. I was taking 1000-1200 mg of mag citrate powder (natural calm) every three to four days when symptoms got really bad for me and I was too weak. But it was not working well for long term it seemed. SO, I started to up this dose again to 1200-1400 mg a day. I do not hardly ever get diarrhea from this. But, now I am worried about something else. This may sound dumb, and I don't want to go into too many details, but I am wondering if this amount could cause a bleeding issue. I am gettin a bit worried this morning particularly about this. I have read mixed articles on if it can prolong bleeding time or have anticoagulant properties.
Also, I am wondering in the case of preventing a deficiency from getting worse, what would be the best one to take.Peace
