Lithium Orotate is an alternative treatment. Lithium Carbonate is what doctor's prescribe. You can order Lithium Orotate online or get it at some health/supplement stores. Lithium can not only boost antidepressant activity of other antidepressants but it can be neuroprotective. It may not have this effect on you but it may be worth a try.
I'm not crazy about 5htp. I think people often have to continue to up the dose. I may be wrong. Another drawback is that you have to dose it 2 or 3 times a day.
Have you tried SJW? I think it is a much better option as an antidepressant. Plus, it has a 24 hour half life so you should only have to take it one time a day.
