In reply to any juice fasting tips?, posted by Christ_empowered on January 3, 2011, at 17:38:05
I wouldn't do an extended juice fast given your medications and psychiatric condition. You can get benefits from fasting by just doing it one day a week and otherwise simply eating really healthy. If you fast, try to do fresh juice using a juicer. Don't do too many fruits as you do not want to spike insulin too much. Lots of VEGGIES! Oh, do you have a juicer? Or a Vitamix/Blendtec?
Check out Mark's Daily Apple. Mark Sisson is a big proponent of fasting once a week.
Why do you want to do a long fast? You may reach nirvana, but you also might do more damage than good. And, if you do feel good during an extended fast, you may very likely end the fast and return to feeling like you did before or worse. I just don't think it's worth it. Definitely continue to do some solid research before considering a long fast.
I don't think fasting will have an effect on Celexa, but it could have an effect on Abilify. I'm sure there must be a way to find out.
The best healing body cleanse is a sound well balanced diet where you eat just what your body and mind need to perform throughout the day. Have as many meals as you like-1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 meals throughout the day. Just make sure you are not overeating in any one of those meals.
