In reply to N-Acetyl-cysteine and Overfocused ADHD, posted by justin fernandez on July 20, 2010, at 16:13:38
This post is a bit old, but I just found it. I have been taking 2400 mg NAC (1200 mg b.i.d.) for a few weeks now for trichotillomania and anxiety. Until recently, I had never heard of the notion of overfocused ADD. I used to joke that I had ADD, but it was just a joke, as I can focus quite well. But shifting my attention can be quite hard. And sometimes (often) I just get overly caught up in small insignificant things to the detriment of important tasks. So, have you had success with the NAC? Any chance you would update on this post? I'm taking NAC anyway, and I sure hope it helps with my obsessive-ADD tendencies, but I'd love to hear what your experience is (was). Thanks!
