Hey man. Keep in mind that, in western+industrialized societies, men tend to lose some hair. I think upwards of 50% of men experience some degree of hair loss by middle-age...and that's before old age thins the hair out some more.
I'm just saying that the two might not be related. Kind of like I'm male, I dyed my hair all the time as a teenager (Manic Panic...hell yeah!), and then it thinned. I put off treatment because I thought I'd "done it to myself" with hair dye. Then I went on supplements+propecia (I get it off the net from India..$5/month...awesome!), and now my hair's pretty thick.
If fish oil helps you, I'd say work around the hair loss. In Europe and the UK, Loreal has these pills called "Hair Mass" that have taurine+grape seed extract+zinc+green tea extract. I looked up the formula, and they use relatively low doses. I got on vitacost, high-dosed it, added in propecia, and now my hair is awesome. Everything in the formula helps your overall health, too.
Here's my anti-bald supplement line up:
2 gram taurine (1 dose)+1 gram green tea extract (vitacost brand)+OptiZinc (1 30mgs cap)+200mgs Grape Seed Extract (vitacost)+2.6 grams borage oil (2 1.3 grams caps, vitacost brand)+1 Life Extension "Super Absorbable Soy Isoflavones" capsule (provides 50ish mgs soy isoflavones).
That's on top of my ongoing Orthomolecular treatment and, like I said, imported finasteride.
