Aspirin will help prevent clotting, and therefore prevent ischemic attacks.
If hemorrhagic events are a concern, aspirin will do more harm than good.
Statin drugs: Crestor (rosuvastatin) is able to prevent and even reverse atherosclerosis. The same has been claimed for Lipitor (atorvastatin).
