Yeah, morning wakeneings are the worst, especially when they occur on the weekend (typically when I would be able to sleep in).

Since changing from mirtazapine to nortriptyline my sleep has dropped from 9 hours to about 6-7. I notice the loss.

On the flipside, I am nowhere near as fatigued in the day (paradoxically). Nortriptyline doesn't leave me feeling hung over. However, I miss being able to sleep my life away. That was the best.
