Ouch! I tripped over my tongue that time! Thanks for being nice about it....

I think (I hope) I was reminding myself as much as I was showing off! I've been eating a lot of fast, junky food the last couple of years because the low-energy side of my depression has reached the point where even cooking some durum pasta and throwing in a jar of decent prepared sauce is too much trouble.

My housemate across the hall has type I diabetes, labile, and through poverty and some bad habits he doesn't manage his nutrition / insulin balance very well. I've learned a lot about diabetes from him! I've helped him with many hypoglycemic crises in the past few years, mostly I know how to handle it now with conservative measures, even if he's gone down a bit far, haven't had to call 911 for quite a while touch wood ... but a couple of hyper-glycemic ones, too, especially a while back when the Ministry of Health powers-that-be wouldn't supply his insulin any more -- how cruel is that? -- where I DID have to call 911 to get him to hospital, he was so ill and weak.

He's been getting terrible charlie-horses in his calf recently, excruciating pain and the cramp just won't let go with the usual manipulation. He figures it's malnutrition - not enough Ca, Mg, & maybe K & Na, plus sometimes dehydration. Do you get that, or know anything about it? It's terrible to see & hear him suffer & not be able to help. I do share my Ca/Mg/Zn supplement with him when one of us remembers, and he usually keeps himself well hydrated, just sometimes he gets gaming on the computer (like me on forums!) and forgets to drink.

My Meds
-----------
Escitalopram 20 mg
Bupropion XR 75 mg
Diazepam 5 mg tid - weaning
Propranolol 20 mg tid
Robaxin - non-prescribed; weaning
Kava - non-Rx, prn
