In reply to guilt meds, posted by calamityjane on March 4, 2005, at 4:25:03
What, mothers feeling guilty over something? Nah, never heard of such a thing. Obviously I'm kidding big time. I think all mothers feel guilty at least some of the time - it's a female trait I think. But you have to subconsiously at least recognize that by medicating your illness and going to school, you are trying to make yourself a *better* person (emotionally, mentally, etc.) which can only make you a *better* mother. Think how guilty you'd feel if you came off your meds and were disfunctional? Or how unhappy you'd be if you quit school and worked at a job that didn't stimulate you. Anyway, too late to make this long story short, but as a woman and mother, I would like to recommend you hold your head high and be proud of your efforts, and of every little moment you share with your child. You are only one person and can only give as much as you can give. THAT is nothing to feel guilty about.
