Oh yes, I am serious. Why would I lose height? One of the big risk factors for bone loss is Anorexia Nervosa. In fact, bone loss, osteopenia, and osteoporosis are amongst the most serious long term medical effects of AN. That's why the gynecologist ordered the bone mineral density scan for me in the first place.
Now, after years of riding horses, with all the wear and tear that causes to the body -- especially knees, hips, and spine -- it's not likely that it's only the AN that's done this. But whatever combination was involved, I've gotten more than an inch shorter.
