What a nice question!

Well, since we've just been kicked out of a church and an entire denomination, you'd think, & it was certainly a temptation for us, that we just might sit at home and mope.

But we wanted to be in a place where we could worship IN SPITE OF what's happened, where we could connect with others, and where we could avail ourselves of healing. Boy, do we ever need healing.

So, we went to a church that we used to attend, a church known for it's solid reputation, it's safety, it's recognition of God's healing power, and its freedom. We all went on Saturday night, and again on Sunday morning.

But, regarding the Sabbath, I firmly believe that the Sabbath was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Just as the day of rest and recognition of God was once set aside, as an external observation, once a person comes into Christ, the law and the prophets are internalized. So, all that the law and the prophets were preparing for was Jesus. With Him living inside of me, I now have His law as a part of who I am, as a new creature. And He Himself has become my Sabbath rest. Every day is now like the Sabbath, because my rest is in Him, and every day is to be in observance of Him.

We gather together to be collectively the Body of Christ. Each of His followers is a member of His living Body, meant to function together. We join in worship, prayer, fellowship and purpose. We each have our own individual relationship with Him, but we also have a corporate anointing when we come together, a power to accomplish His purposes that we can't do on our own.

So, the Sabbath is a part of me - the Lord of the Sabbath lives within me. As such, He has set me aside from the world, and He gives me His rest.

That's my $.02 on the Sabbath.

Shalom, Dena
