I guess the important point is what is meant by "faith alone." I know some people who believe that, basically, they just have to believe--that what they DO everyday doesn't really have any bearing on salvation. If that's what "faith alone" means, then it seems rather soulless to me.

On the other hand, if "faith alone" means you don't have an obligation to go out and intentionally perform good works, but you do implement the tenets of your faith in the course of your everyday interaction with others (love they neighbor; care for the least among us; that type of thing), that's more appealing from my personal perspective.

Because of my upbringing, I lean toward more of the affirmative good works point of view, and since I never live up to those standards, I am a pretty solid failure within my own faith.
