I had a traumatic experience with my father about one month ago. I took him to the ER for high blood sugar (he's a diabetic). He has a pace maker and a morphine pump. The ER doctor was an idiot and gave him some type of medicine that you aren't supposed to give someone with a morphine pump- it threw my dad into a horrible reaction; seizures, vomitting, screaming, he went blind momentarily, and also caused cardiac arrest.
I was in the room when all this happened. I immediately freaked out, ran out of the room, and had horrible anxiety for the next 6 hours (diarrhea, fast heart rate, blood pressure at 145/110).
Anyway, after that night (he survived it by the way), I got sent into the weirdest anxiety/depression/head fog funk of my life.
I did not eat for 4 days, could not sleep, could not concentrate or function..My dr. put me on Lexapro because of this; I felt better for 2 weeks back to normal.
Then, BAM, two weeks into the Lexapro, the weird head fog, feeling bizarre like I'm not real stuff came back.
So my dr. then decides after 1 month on Lexapro that I may be having a bad chemical reaction to it. So I am now off of it ( I slowly weaned off and am on day 2 of being totally off).
I am SOME better but still have the weirdest head feeling-- it's almost as if I'm going insane, but it's hard to describe.
Is this from stress? My dr. thinks I have some form of Post Traumatic Stress.
How do I get rid of this?? It is making me nuts!
