I had a bad experience with nitrous oxide at the dentist's office. The nitrous made me hyperventilate (probably because I was starting to panic). I was starting to panic because the nitrous was all warm and made me feel strange. I felt like I was suffocating. The hyperventilation amplified the effects of the nitrous of course. I starting getting really tingly and numb and then I really started to panic.

The dentist decided to skip the nitrous after all, even though I was extremely nervous of getting my impacted wisdom teeth removed...even the Ativan he gave me did not prevent this panic.

I thought it was wierd too...how the nitrous made me panic.
