I don't know about the muscle relaxant, but I am on Parnate now, prior to having cervical spine surgery for what turned out to be a bone spur stabbing into a nerve root plus unstable vertebrae. Point is that I also have low back/hip pain. I have been prescribed Neurontin for the pain plus I have a Lidoderm patch I can use for pain. The use of the Lioderm patch allows me to have less pain and thus, less to no spasm. Both are safe with Parnate.
