I don't think it is possible to get to the bottom of this. There needs to be a lot more research, and, apparently, the funding for such research simply isn't there.
I know aspartame is a poison in my body. I've known it for many years. My reaction (migraine headaches) is too strong, immediate, and consistant for it not to be the aspartame. No matter how many press releases I read saying that aspartame is harmless, I will not believe them.
But you don't need to get to the bottom of the issue to know what to do. No one ever needs to consume aspartame (or soda, for that matter).
